Suit pants for small waist and large thighs?

I'm looking at purchasing a new suit in the next month or so and need some help. I am an athletic guy and have pretty large thighs at 24.5" and a 39.5" Seat (played hockey my entire life). The problem is that I only have a 31" waist. Looking at my thigh measurements on Suit Supply puts me at a size 48 or 50 pant :-O. Surely that would not be able to be altered, because the seat would be way too large due to the large waist size.

Do I have any options here besides MTM? I was trying to keep my budget under $600.00 Any help would be great. Thanks!

Conspicuous by it's absence is your jacket size. If you are a size 40, the 34 trouser will fit your seat and thigh. You can reduce the waist 2 inches and wear braces.

How important is full vs half canvas to you for heavier sport jackets?
