I keep getting kidded about the shoes, but I think they'll go well with black slacks, light blue shirt, and a silver-white sports jacket.

I just received a pair of suede shoes and there is significant colour variation on the left shoe. I think a different piece of suede was used here. I contacted the retailer as I feel the shoes shouldn’t have passed QC but was told this was “normal variation”, which I find a bit humourous. What do you think?

"Color variation" Do people understand the word "pair"? (Hint: It means two of the same kind. Not two of the "almost identical" kind).

Natural materials have variation. Same usually means artificially adjusted.
As much as people want to think they're perfectly identical left to right, most people will find one eyelid sags a bit more, one ear has a slightly different lobe, one foot is slightly larger, etc.

Just to make sure, have you tried brushing the nap to make sure they're laying the same left to right?

I'm not insulting the man's shoes, I am agreeing with him. If the shoes are dyed, then the job is inconsistent.

Blessings.

This is after vigorous brushing. Not sure brushing will get rid of the reddish hue

For the Suede lovers, I found the rich suede moisturizer (they have 2, one for smooth leather one for suede) from Boot Black seem to be very helpful for my suede shoes.

I can feel the suede become softer after using it.

Also curious to know how you guys take care of your suede shoes.
