Brother directed by Takeshi Kitano. Costuming by Yohji

The Man Who Fell to Earth directed by Nicolas Roeg

I think we need more challenging content in this thread as well so I present a few things -

You guys should definitely watch Dai Nipponjin. Such an odd and funny film.

EDIT - Meh, wanted to be clever and round off the post with both Kitano and Bowie in the same film (Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence), but can't find a shot of the two of them together. Oh well -

Nice, I didn't realize Kitano was wearing YY in that, to be fair I haven't watched that film since its release.

Yeah, apparently Takeshi Kitano and Yohji are pretty good friends. I could swear that he wears Yohji in a lot of his films even if Yohji doesn't handle the costuming. The oversized suits and shirting reminds me of Yohji now when I watch his movies.

Indeed. I probably watched most of Kitano's films for the last time around 2002-03, my interest in clothes-related stuff at that time was.. underdeveloped to say the least. :D

But now that I think of it, the styling is kinda reminiscent of YY, yeah.

Brother was a fun movie. Road to Perdition had some fairly conservative but nice looks.

Kitano's films have always looked good but I can't think of one of his character's I'd actually want to dress like.

That's just, like, your opinion, man.

But more seriously, I guess having yohjiesque sensibilites help (and you don't necessarily have to want to dress like in a film for that film to be stylish, or smthg...)

While we're on the subject of Kitano, Sonatine is Engineered Garments + Department of wacky shirts and flower prints approved

The assassination of Jesse James is logically reminiscent of McCabe & Mrs. Miller , quality winter outerwear right there
