Mike, I placed my preorder for two pair of size 10's after seeing that I could still change the size until 10/13. I know you're totally swamped but if you could give sizing advice before the deadline it would be greatly appreciated

I'm not Mike but Chuck's run 1/2 size large typically. That's the common advice and fits with my experience. So if you are using that as a basis for determining your size, a Brannock 10D would take 9.5. I'm a US 10 and that's what I did.

The comparison to Chucks is somewhat contradictory while saying they are true to size, but the fit on sneakers doesn't have to be as exact as dress shoes IMO.

I decided that I thought better of ordering two pairs, and downgraded to just a pair of cognac, letting my cigars go back into the wild (that was late last night, it looks like the pair already got snapped back up). That said, I'm surprised everyone is jumping on the cigar over the cognac. In all other contexts, light colored shells are the grail colors. I would have thought cognac would have sold out instantly, yet there are still pairs available. It's such an amazing color.

Your point is well taken. I first thought cognac was a no-brainer, but the cigar just has this deep luster that is really set off well by the color of the sole. It looks like a really versatile shade. Not to take anything away from the cognac. In short, I'd take cognac to the prom but I'd marry cigar.

The correct answer is clearly a 3 way with both of them

i guess it depends on what you are going to wear them with. i'd say cigar would look great with more formal epaulet chino styles, i kopped the kognac, i think it will work great on the slouchier denim end of things.

My $.02 on the sizing issue: The order page says TTS to your U.S. dress shoe size, 0.5 size up from Alden Barrie, and 1 size up from Carmina. These three data points gave me the confidence to order size 9.5, my usual dress shoe size.

I'm Team Cognac. I'm also surprised that it wasn't the first to sell out considering that it is fairly close to the tan Buttero, which appears to be the overwhelmingly most popular Buttero.

It was a tough choice between Cigar and Cognac but I was blown away how cigar pictures came out.

Can't wait to get it.

In terms of sizing, I'm 9D TTS and wear CP in 42, MMM Gats in 43 and ordered SFxEP sneaks in size 9.

Alden Barrie = 8.5D. Carmina Forest, Inca, Rain = 8UK.

I think the cigar version is the most photogenic, which might be why it sold out so fast. After seeing the pictures for the first time, I wanted the cigar and navy versions. However, after thinking about it for a bit, I realized that cognac made more sense than cigar for me since I think lighter color works better for this type of casual wear, and it is similar to the tan Butteros I've been eyeing for a long time. Since cigar was sold out by the time I came to this conclusion, my decision became easy. Those cigar versions do look pretty great though.
