Remember, no matter what brand of sock you buy, keep them out of the dryer and let them air dry. Reason being that heat will destroy any elasticized effect and shrink the body of the sock making it to tight against the foot and this will create premature holes from friction against toes and heels.

Though they are not from the U.S and cost more than $5 I recommend EFFIO socks. Best socks in the world. Great designs, great quality. Same as Paul Smith socks, even manufactured in the same factory in Italy but way cheaper.

I usually wear H&M socks but it bothers me because I have this thing about solid coloured socks and I can usually only find one or two packs that are solids only.

Seconding the Happy Socks recommendation. Also, Urban Outfitters is good for socks and underwear (the only things I buy from them anymore).

+1 on the Uniqlo socks. Heattech socks are great for the winter! Thick, warm, comfortable, and cheap.

You can call or e-mail the NYC store to order.

Hmmm. Those look nice. Do you think somebody with size 10 feet could enjoy those?

i found them to be kind of short on the calf in my size -- maybe about 2-3 inches lower than uniqlo, ymmv though.

+1. I was just about to mention this. I've saved a lot of money on socks by doing this.

The extra sock is for the initial reaction of feeling the socks.

It might be a little more than you want to spend $10 a pair range but happy socks are fun.
