So I strained my quad now.

So I pulled my right quad for sure.

I did some cossfit **** on Monday night.

The quad was sore all day and as I was crouching down to tie my shoes, It popped. There was some pain and it was moderate for the next day, but getting better every day. I've been doing some light stretches with it, but when i try to lunge on it (only to stretch it out) it starts to get real tight.

I think the culprit is the wind sprints we were doing. In fact I'm pretty sure it's the wind sprints.

Now:

1. How do I prevent it? Should I stretch it out more? Should I work out that quad muscle more? Do I need to wear a compression sleeve on my thigh?

2. How do I treat it now, as it is healing? Light stretches? Ice? Heat?

Ice and ibuprofen. If its really bad you might consider going to get some PT to make sure that it heals correctly. In the future make you you warm up well and dont make huge jumps in the intensity of your work. Of course I don't know what your normal routine is, but whenever I have strained something while sprinting it was when I suddenly added full sprints before working up to them by doing less intense intervals in the weeks before.
