Hi all,

I am hoping to receive guidance on the sleeve length of several jackets I own. Since entering the professional world, I have been purchasing my work attire at brooks brothers. Now, after purchasing several jackets, I have realized I’ve received varying fit recommendation between stores/ associates.

Recently, I brought the purple coat (picture below to a tailor outside brooks brothers) and was told the sleeves were far too short. Is this accurate? I have searched online and have found some mixed guidance.

Additionally, do the sleeves appear too short on the other jackets I have purchased (pictures below).

I am hoping to purchase a navy blazer this week with the sale, and am finding myself conflicted on the size to buy due primarily to the sleeves. I am 5’ 7” and my shoulders fit comfortably in a 36/38 regent and a 38 Milano. I have also been advised at each store to buy a short jacket. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

It's hard to tell from these photos but I think the jacket sleeve length is good. It looks like your dress shirt sleeves are probably short and I'm thinking maybe that is what your tailor was remarking about?

Agree with papado. Shirt sleeves may be a tad short but jacket sleeve proportion to shirt sleeve is good. If it’s not uncomfortable, I wouldn’t worry about it. Looks fine to me.
