Please advise regarding sizing on Bonafe's M last - I am unfamiliar with that one. How's the length and instep height compared to other Bonafe lasts?

The M last is made exclusively for moccasin construction like the 40530 last but less old school. I have only seen it a few times as MTO for a customer of ours and kind of started to like it. He is not my size so I have not tried it yet though. I think that width and instep is pretty equal to the lasts we mostly use but it might be a little shorter so I am discussing it with Bonafé at the moment to get a proper size advise. I will come back about that.

Bonafé said that the M and 40530 last are almost identical in terms of fit. So I would recommend to stick with your normal EB size. I have a pair on the 40530 last and they fit more snug than my 363 mod shoes. But that’s kind of the point about moccasins.

I recently had a pair of old EB chukkas (bought 7 years ago) resoled by Bonafè through Skoaktie and I wanted to share with the class in case anyone is interested by the service.

They are one of my favourite pairs and I wear them often, from autumn all the way through winter and spring. They do not always get the love (and shoe trees) they deserve, hence the need for new soles (the stitching gave way).

EB did an excellent job, I got new soles, fresh insoles, a new pair of laces and a good clean. Before shipping them back to me, Erik wrote that he couldn’t find them at first, as they looked like a brand new pair. I thought he was just joking, but he had a point 😂.

Thank you for sharing! The thing is that I had a pair from Bonafé with a broken box so i asked them to include an empty box in the shipment. And then I reached out to them that they forgot to include the box. But they responded that a resoled pair was put in it to save some space and it really took me a while to find out that the pair wasn´t new. Anyway the upper suede looks really great even in your "before" photos, that´s the beauty of being able to resole shoes.

There was some discussion over on the main EB thread about something like the below.

Style 3993 Wholecut Sidezip with extended shaft (20 cm) - not sure I'm sold on an extended shaft.

74945 Last

270 Degree Handwelted with Bombe Waist

25mm Cuban Heel

Snuff Suede

Dark Brown Welt/Sole Edge

Leather Sole with Vibram Topy
