I am on an Express type budget and while I like the slim fit 1MX shirts the pants do nothing for me. I am looking for a skinny fit non boot cut pant. Basic colors, Blue, Black, Grey etc. Just looking for a little more style at the office. Thanks.

There's usually no shortage of Incotex/Mabitex on the B&S forum at deep discounts. If you hang around there long enough, someone's usually bound to post a sales thread.

Other than that, Uniqlo is a good bet. You're not going to win any awards on SF for Uniqlo pants, and God knows the quality is acceptable but far from fantastic. But the fit is great and the price is right.

Why not buy whatever pants you like or can afford and take them to a tailor to get slimmed down?

That's what I do, and you can get them as slim as you want.

Easy.

Since Uniqlo was mentioned, H&M is a similar option too.

not easy! I've taken my place to a lot of tailors and they never seem to get it right and doesnt match the quality of underpaid immigrants producing my ****

I'm on the search of nice slacks in this price range too and I dont think regular stores have gotten the natch to get a right lean fit without feeling like your pants are going to rip if you sit down incorrectly.

That doesn't make sense. Don't you tell your tailor exactly how you would want them?

If they still can't get it right, time for a new tailor.

Another solution is to bring in a pair of pants that you like and have them copy it. Any tailor worth his salt can do this w/o any issues.

Like I said, easy

I like the fit of BR's Straight Fit Gavin. Not skinny but trim. Nice, medium rise.

quality's not great, but I was really impressed with a pair of wool dress pants I picked up from the GAP. Really slim fit. price around $60-70 CAD, plus there's always sales and discounts. For reference I'm 5'6, 130, 18'' thighs (slim) and 28w were are as tight as I'd go.

Gap actually has a lot of great stuff. Their dress shirts fit me the best out of all the cheap budget brands and their chinos have a pretty decent fit until I finally got my hands on those Uniqlo Vintange Chinos.

BR fits a lot like Express in my opinion: fitted tops/shirts, relaxed/straight pants. Obviously what's slim to me is not the same as what's slim to you, but I haven't really found BR's pants to be anything near what I'd call slim.
