I thought there were Canadian Jews? Or are they all moved to NYC?
I don't use Bugelli, he was too difficult to deal with at a distance (not his fault at all). I am sure he would have been fabulous if I went in person. I am not sure how I would have Jantzen use my own fabric, as everyone knows, they are very, very difficult to deal with. Barton and Donaldson would never even attemp to get a fabric I requested, you use their selection or go elsewhere. They are excellent shirtmakers, I consider them one of "my shirtmakers", but I can't go to them for any unsual fabrics. Freddie Vandecasteele is every bit as good, a little cheaper, and will use Alumo, but he cannot get any other unusual fabric manufacturers. I consider him also, one of "my shirtmakers." No, the shirtmaker who got the Simonot Goddard chambray and sent me Riva samples, with great difficulty I might add, is Burgos, in Madrid. The shirts are lovely. If you use their Spanish fabrics their prices are comparable to Barton, about $250/shirt. Freddie is about $200/shirt with Alumo fabric. But Burgos is so exotic and she can get any fabric (because she is in Europe). Plus the owner is very nice. Exceptionally knowledgeable about formal shirts by the way, because they are responsible for making formal shirts for Spain's diplomatic corps, or so she says.
I noticed Will's claim of a MyTailor shirt with Simonot chambray and I was annoyed, I assume he used some sneaky trick to make this happen that would not be accessible to anyone else.
So far as the AAAC Bespoke Forum, I have been forbidden entry there for some reason, I guess I am not one of the cool kids. I was thrown out of London Lounge, maybe AAAC Bespoke does not want LL's rejects. But I have a SG chambray shirt and I will have Riva shirts. And that makes it all better.
Maybe I was not admitted because of the $20,000 I estimate I wasted since 2004 on clothing that did not look good on me or was not up to the highest standards, $2300 of which appears to have been on shirts. Choose carefully, dressing nicely is expensive.
