Adding to the apparently evergrowing list of things I used to dislike/hate but now want, I'm strongly considering these (chunky, all-black, patent leather) loafers

(should probably have cuffed my jeans)

On a similar note to that, should I get some postman 101's or nah? Need/want a beater derby.

Or same deal - Tiger of Sweden

Or any other rec's for something similar (or link to ann/dries/damir creeper sub 300 kthnx)

What are those derby/creepers to your left? I'd get those.
Both by Vagabond (swedish shoe brand, it's mostly whatever)
The ones to the left look good in pictures but wasn't a fan of how they looked on foot (+ rather thin leather that got a crease just from me trying them on)

On a similar note to that, should I get some postman 101's or nah? Need/want a beater derby.

From what I've heard, the leather on these is very underwhelming

Those Tiger of Sweden look pretty nice tho

Yeah, but for $200 I've heard they are much better than doc's. Plus crepe sole. I really don't know though, the RW's always seem to look the same, like they don't age at all or something.

@kindofyoung the loafers looks pretty good, but is Vagabond really worth the money...?

re: red wing postmans - they have pretty nice leather, thick and supple. I would have gotten them a long time ago if they werent too tapered for my foot shape.
RW in general is good for leather quality imo (if you compare to "fashion brands" )

Yeah I'm just not a fan of the natural soles on their ones. If they did a black sole black upper I'd give them a whirl.

I picked up the black/black version for cheap last year but they're probably a pass, silhouette is not nearly defined enough and they run small.

I'm on the lookout for a chunky derby as well. Every pair of docs I see has that huge stitching showing, is that all docs?

Seems to be most if not all docs.
If you find anything let me know, please.
I've come accross a couple of possibilities but nothing that's a definite yet.
Grenson "robin", but sole seems too thick
Chaeney and Trickers both did a wedge crepe sole, plain toe but I can't find anything current, same for Viberg (but too pricy)
The tiger of Sweden above.

I've also been looking for a crepe or lug soled derby. Was eyeing these Dries for a while,

Cheap solovair, like docs but without contrast stitching

https://www.solovair-shoes.com/product/black-gibson-shoe-black-sole/

These Carvens look okay

leather looks a bit cheap

Mainly looking for something with a rounded, wide vamp, and some taper to the heel. American shapes are generally too sleek. European workwear shapes are better, don't care about too chunky, just not too sleek.

Carven look ok. Id prefer some kind of rubber sole though. Marni have done one recently that was good.
I've got a bunch of bookmarks on my laptop, I'll post them up later if anybody is interested.
