i like that those marsells have full heels but they still look wonky to me!! (the back of the heel rising up off the ground, it's like they're diagonal or smth)

I had the Arums in black pebble grain, but did not keep. I thought they were too boring for a non-CM look. I am otherwise a big Heschung fan and own many pairs of their shoes and boots.

But for non-CM purposes, there are more interesting (but perhaps less well-made) alternatives for black derbies. Ymmv, of course.

I think the Heschungs look cleaner with the blind eyelets and more traditional silhouette. The Marsells are going to look a little more off-kilter with the toebox shape and the less uniform appearance of the leather. Offhand I think the Heschungs might make more sense with Schneider and Lemaire, but I maybe like the Marsells a little more.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I like the toe box, profile, and heel of the Marsell but the eyelets are giving me pause. But the Heschung would probably see more use with the rest of my wardrobe.

Price is pretty much the same too.
