so, I got some KMW rockers and I love them but I think I need to reduce the inseam on these suckers. However, I would love to keep the chainstiched hem if I could. Would asking for the original hem work out? Would there be any foreseeable problems?

Its quite simple. A decent tailor can simple reattached the the original bottom after hemming. Pretty standard thing IMO.

The chainstitch is nice but it's not the end all. You can send them out and have it chainstitched though. I'm sure a quick search will result in somewhere you can send them. You can ge good roping from a standard stitch though. Just explain and show the tailor what your looking for as far as roping.

Don't reattach the original hem. Especiall with raw denim. It may be a standard job and there are a couple ways to do it but it almost always looks like garbage compared to the original hem. Definately send them out if you have to have the chain stitch. The only time I'll reattach an original bottom is if they're pre-distressed.

You can frankenstein hem the original but I would just use a normal hem if I don't have access to a chainstitch. The difference between a chainstitched and normally stitched hem won't look significantly different even down the line, and will look better than a frankenhem.
