Should I get married in this suit?

Hi everybody! I’m getting married in March and was taking time to find a suit on eBay. I’m a weird fit - 40S, so I’ve had a lot of bad luck. Finally I found a Brioni suit on eBay that fits, although the jacket could be taken in a bit. It cost me $800 total, and looks like it was never worn based on the lining and having no signs of wear. I was looking for two pieces of advice:
  1. Is this an acceptable suit to get married in? The wedding is in a classy barn venue in England
  2. Does the suit look dated? Can anybody ID it’s age based on the tags/details?
I was thinking of wearing it with my Alden LHS in color 8 and a green tie (although I’m open to styling it another way). The only thing that’s throwing me off is that the herringbone looks like stripes from a distance.

Seems to fit generally fine around your shoulders and upper body. The trousers look good from the front. My only concern is jacket length - does the jacket cover your rear? How tall are you?

I do like it. I’ve been conflicted wanting to wear a nice suit but also not pay over $1k since I rarely wear suits.

As for the jacket length, I’d say it covers 3/4 of my rear. I’m 5’7. Here’s a photo of the back

From chest level (since generally nobody looks at your rear from such a low angle) it looks like it would be okay length-wise.

Brioni aficionado here.

It would be helpful to show a picture of the jacket model tag (it would say something like “Nomentano” or “Chigi” etc. one of the Brioni models.) that would possibly point to the approx. age of the suit a little more.

It would also be helpful to see if the pants have a pleated front - I can’t tell. Pleated pants would possibly indicate an older suit.

But honestly what I can say is it can’t be extremely old. Number one, the Brioni label is the newest one. Number two, it’s a two button jacket and not a hard 3 (a hard 3 would all but guarantee an old suit).

I'd personally like something just a bit longer, but the length isn't so short that it looks bad (think Thom Browne). With a little fit clean up by a good tailor I think it would be a fine choice for a wedding suit.
