"Is" and "looks like," are two different concepts. He might not be a dork. I don't know. I've never met him. In a jacket and shorts he definitely looks like one, though. Pace Zip's pictures above, my thoughts are that if you're old enough to ****, you're too old to wear shorts and a jacket.

i think it works sometimes, but as very casual wear. I throw a blazer on sometimes on a chilly summer evening at the beach or on a boat.

Other than that adults shouldn't wear shorts, much less shorts with a blazer. bermuda excepted

I've seen this look pulled-off on Martha's Vineyard. In my opinion, it's kind of "preppy" bordering on WASP-ish, and only to be worn at a resort setting.

Every year, at the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, the topic of blazer with shorts appears like herpes on a hooker. Every year.

I saw it first hand this evening. I was at a pretty nice restaurant along the Main Line. There was a man in his mid-sixties wearing khaki shorts, a medium blue horizontally striped golf shirt (buttoned all the way) and a madras patch jacket. Somehow I failed to notice the footwear.
