how do you prevent shoes from creasing?

shoe leather crease badly on poor quality leathered shoes.
but on good quality and premium leathers, the creasing is very beautiful.

i prefer to have some natural creasing on all my shoes. even the ones i have not worn yet, i put them on to crease them slightly as they are more characterized.

Using shoe trees, and wearing the right size shoe minimize creasing.

lobb, c&j, allen edmonds , edward green, santoni fam, lattanzi, borgioli, martegani, mantellassi, peal, are some brands that use premium leathers.

brands like johnston murphy, cole haan, ecco, bostonian, florsheim, rockport, use poorer quality leathers.

also there are brand names that use a range of qualitative leathers like ferragamo, gucci, prada, tods, even cole haan, allen edmonds, moreschi, magnanni, santoni, etc. that use premium leathers in their top lines and cheaper stuff for their base line merchandise.

It's interesting that you mention bostonian and florsheim as using poor quality leathers. Although I would not argue with that statement, I have found that my florsheim shoes don't crease as compared to the bostonians, which crease very badly.

if you buy shoes made of full grain leather, you will get less bad creasing.

if you buy split leather you will get bad creasing. split leather has that already polished look that you see on a lot of kenneth coles and aldo shoes.

although full grain leather doesn't look as polished in the store, you can polish it yourself or get them polished to look shiny.

people by the split leather shoes because they already look shiny and because they are cheap. however, they will look like crap in a couple months.

You can't prevent it, you can only minimize it.

All my shoes have creased to varying degrees, from Lobb to Vass to CJ to JM to Alden to AE. Can't say that I've really noticed a difference among those listed.

Are brands like bruno magli, john varvatos, hugo boss, mark nason, louis vuitton, good or bad?

How can you tell what shoes are full grain or split leather?

In person, it's really easy to tell corrected grain shoes apart from the better shoes, but on web sites it's pretty hard sometimes. In person, look for shoes that are plasticky and always shiny (Kenneth Cole reigns supreme in its use of this cheap leather).

must be sourced from calves with acne or oily skin problems.
