Shirt Poll: fit elements (plus pics)

Let's do a poll on the shirt elements that may make it more or less, what Master K refers to as, fit and trim. I realize that there may be other elements at work here as well, but they do not allow for easy 'polling'.

Pics to illustrate the elements:

box pleats

side pleats

shirring

split yoke

darts (couldn't find any good pics)

Please add any elements that I may have missed, but do not come here with references to elements such collars, cuffs and pockets. They do not belong here; plenty of other threads covering them.

For this poll to be meaningful, I think we need some more votes...

i suspect the reason people aren't voting is that the choices don't seem pertinent to the question around what makes a shirt "fit and trim".

pleats don't slim down a shirt. they add bulk.

a yoke doesn't really impact the fit.

you have no option for darts.

you have no option for just slim sides.

may want to redesign poll.

Agreed. If I get a shirt slimmed, I have my tailor taper the sides. Works like a charm

Many thanks OS - good point about the darts; forgot about that. Not sure I can amend the poll though.

I would have thought that you could argue that pleats would give you some extra room in a slim fit shirt. As to the yoke, I have heard that, for certain body types, it can actually address the fit.

I prefer a split yolk but a side pleat is also nice.

Any back treatment other than a box pleat or inverted box pleat is fine by me.
