There is nothing "wrong" with this leather but it's not going to be finished to the same quality as Horween. Japanese cordovan is usually much drier and coarser than shell produced from Horween. One other thing to consider when looking at this wallet is that only the outside of the wallet is cordovan. The inside is made of a different type of leather. Those look similar to the Brooks Brothers wallets which are also made of Japanese Shell.

Agree. Nothing is wrong with the Japanese shell but it has much less depth than Horween. Japanese shell color appears much more shallow than Horween..

Thought that this was a good time to post this...

This is a Yuketen card case I bought from Namor 2 years ago. I've used it almost every day since I received it, and have put absolutely no product on it.

First the befores...

And now the afters'....

Obviously Namor knows how to take better pictures than I do, but the wallet has aged to a cigar colour with a hint of colour 8 in there, except for under the pocket (where there are usually receipts) where it is still ravello.

^ awesome. Shell is thick too. My light Ravello looks like a dark brown, almost black in poor light. Remarkable how perspiration and oils darken the shell over time

Irreg from Ashland has to do with the grain or the uneven dyeing. Sometimes just the stamps on the back side is smeared. all cosmetic only. Great but very high priced.

A HS teacher in Utah will make you anything, out of anything. He uses the exact same materials for 40-50% of cost, with only a lifetime warranty hehe

Guys like Namor buy his stuff and it quadruples in price over night OHHHH....

Glad you like it. I ordered the modified version because I rarely carry cash. The exception to tis is when I travel so for Father's Day I received "The Fold" from Leffot. I t's extremely low profile and I like it a lot.

I think Clayton just sell the cordovan, you have to find someone to make it up
