Shell cordovan + rain = ???

FWIW, I have had those dreaded waxy spots appear on more than one occasion afternoon wearing shell in the rain - and I'm not talking about a driving downpour - I'm talking light rain or even drizzle.

Removing them is a PITA. Lots of time, lots of elbow grease, lots of brushing and buffing. Something I do NOT have to deal with for my calfskin shoes. Wiping the shoes off when I get in does not solve the problem. The spots have already formed by them.

I love shell. Love the way it looks. Love the way it rolls. Love the shine it takes. Love its comparative rarity. But if the forecast calls for something other than sunny skies, I reach for calf or suede.

Oh, and Saphir Cordovan Cream works a treat. I hope Nick cam convince them to add whiskey to their offerings.
