I've noticed that for the past few days SF has been pretty slow. Is this happening to anybody else? The speed is the same regardless of whether I use Firefox or IE. I have a pretty fat pipe, so that's not an issue.

What kind of server/database does this site run on? Looks like its time to add another disk array into the mix, too bad they cost $10k.

Um not to point out the (somewhat) obvious, but Seattle did experience the largest windstorm and blackout in recent history last week, 1.5 million people were without power from thursday on through the weekend. Mine just came on last night, and J's parents still don't have power. Phone and cable lines are down throughout the city, cell towers were down, and etc. So... maybe the slowdown has something to do with that.

The servers are downtown, and are pretty well insulated, but it was really shaky there for a while, especially friday morning. Microsoft was down for two or three days, and still might be down for all I know. a bunch of gaming servers still aren't up yet... there is so much trash in the pipelines up here that its amazing the site is still operational.
