Always a good choice. MPG is my favorite "stinky" house... making scents that stink so good.

^It really depends on what you like. Issey Miyake is a "marine" scent, which is usually better in warmer weather because it is crisper and fresh. Good winter scents are usually a little heavier, using more woods, spices, musks, leathers, etc. I like Gucci Pour Homme for a wintertime scent; it's dark, smokey, woody, and you can get it online for $25 or so (go to www.scentiments.com and check them out). Gucci Envy is another that a lot of people like. Chanel Pour Monsieur, Hermes Terre d'Hermes, Guerlain Vetiver or Heritage or L'instant, and Prada Amber Pour Homme are some other "anytime" scents that work well in most seasons and are very classy.

Hmmm... some winter favorites include Chanel Antaeus, Hermes Rocabar (Christmas in a bottle), Hermes Bel Ami, among those still available. Guerlain Vetiver is on the to-buy list, but can wait until spring.

Right now I'm wearing Signoricci, though. Actually...this morning I layered (god I feel so unmanly saying this) Monsieur de Givenchy and Eau Sauvage Extreme in an effort to duplicate Signoricci. No luck, but I have a vial of the real stuff at the office. Once again feeling like I'm sharing way too much here.

Approximately:
Guerlain= "Gair-lahn"
Vetiver= "vet" like the doctor and "iver" like in "shiver."

Hermes= "air-mez"
Rocabar= like you'd think

Here's a link to a 2.5 oz (75ml) of the Guerlain for $25 plus shipping:
http://www.scentiments.com/Product/S....aspx?id=91655

If you order this from neiman's, they'll charge you the retail of $60 or more. Save your cash and shop discount! I've used that site many times and it's legit.

Yeah, Neiman's is a good place to go sniffing, but leave your charge card at home.

Today I'm trying a new one, received in a swap - Carven Homme. Was incredibly unsure of this one at first sniff, almost binned it right away. Turns out it's not bad. Kind of Pasha meets D&G. A bit of mint, over a mild tobacco/fougere base. Somewhat meek and nondescript, inoffensive. I sprayed very cautiously this morning and it's still hanging around four hours later. It's not got much going for it, but we'll see as time goes on whether it clicks or not.

Breaking from tradition today and revisiting Caron Yatagan. Normally Thursday = Antaeus, but I've not worn Yatagan in weeks, and I figured it was time.

^Today, an oldie-but-goodie... Tova Borgnine for Men. Yes, Ernest's wife has a fragrance line... and believe it or not, her signature men's fragrance is actually quite wonderful. Starts off very dry citrus, ala Eau Savage, then ends as a slightly floral skin scent.

Today it's going to be Valentino's "Vendetta" pour Homme. Gotta love the bottle.
