Argyles, never! : )
Alden?

Yes. One of the few pieces that remains from what was once a vast collection.

I am only an occasional argyle wearer, but they seemed apropos this a.m. given the weekend.

thanks guys. the solid navy socks i have are darker, maybe that was the issue. i dont have any lighter ones, or houndstooth/birdseye in blue. looks like i need to do some shopping. :)
how about a solid gray?

imo, both are good options.

I have some lighter navy with white pindots by Marcoliani. That could work.

depends on the shoe colour either, imo.

is that an offer?

Oh, Hell no. I got mine from Sid Mashburn in Atlanta a few months back. They may have some left, if you call them up. It was more of a "here's a lighter navy with subtle pattern that you can find out there" than an offer.

nice. we shall find out next i time the trou go on. :uhoh:

Marcoliani make a sock in a color called "Titanic" I like it for these occassions. It isn't navy but it is substantially darker than Royal or those types of blues.

(Please don't ever tell anyone I gave out advice on different shades of blue for socks. :embar:)
