I am thinking of getting another pair of shoes and since RL spring sale is coming up I was wondering what you guys though of their made in Italy shoes. From searching all I found was that it's made by the same company that makes the gucci shoes. Mainly I am looking at their oxfords for $550 which would be about ~$270 during the sale. How would these compare to the AE park aves for $229 at the AE outlet?

i have a pair of italian made stanton captoes and a pair of sullivan plain toe oxfords. i havent worn them much, so i cant really comment on quality/durability. however, i do think i prefer their shape to c and j belgraves or polo bentons/tellmans. well really they are quite similiar, just at size 12, the italian made shoes are 12.5 inches long and the english shoes are 13.375 inches long. side by side i think the english shoes look even longer, and being a size 12, the last thing i want is my feet looking even bigger.

I own a black AE Mora and a RL Saddle shoe made in Italy.

IMO AE shoes are much more superior than my RL. I have no doubt about that.
Well, I got the RL for 60 Euro and they are worth it, but I would not pay much more than that.

Apples and oranges.

I don't like the AE aesthetic. The Italian RL shoes are much more attractive to me and good value at $200.

The RL shoes do look pretty good but no sizes other than 7D online - so unless that's you, you'd have to find your size at the store. They also don't look THAT mcuh more stylish in the photo, but maybe more so in person.
