Hi Akoustas - In Japan the Ring Jacket shops generally only stock up to size 50 or 52, but most of our North American stockists will have bigger sizes (up to 56 or in some cases 58).

It was more the length that was the issue. 52 fit wonderfully well, like a custom garment. It was just about an inch short in each case and model.

Thanks! Indeed that sounds like an ideal solution. Is there a comprehensive listing of US stocked shops anywhere? I live in Canada but am often in the U.S

Requested measurements from The Armoury and they provided these measurements for a 44:
shoulder width 45.2
chest 106.3
waist 90.2
body length 72
sleeve length 59.5

I know they widened the shoulders purposely but would this cause a weird fit if they are extending past the shoulder? Just wondering since none of my other suits/jackets are this wide in the shoulder.

Does anyone have any experience with their MTM program? Recent prices, number of fittings, etc. Will be visiting Tokyo soon and I'd like to try them out.

Thanks all.

I was fitted by Sasmoto (Ring's Sales Manager) at a Khakis of Carmel trunk show in San Franciso. I went with a custom pattern rather than making adjustments to a RTW model....I did this based on Sasamoto's recommendation. It's was much more expensive, but I was/am extremely happy with the jacket. Their prices vary depending on the fabric, but I believe you can do their basic MTM with a mid range fabric for somewhere around $1,600 (suit)..@justinkapur can confirm. You don't get any fittings either way. You get measured and the garment is delivered in about 8-10 weeks. Here is my jacket

Yes I echo @Murlsquirl. They offer a great MTM service and I find it hard to beat at the price. They have a huge range of cloths to pick from and they deliver a great garment. My pieces were MTM which involved just minor adjustments on a RTW piece. Hope that helps!

Thanks, @Murlsquirl . That's a good looking jacket. I didn't quite get if the $1,600 figure is for a custom pattern or modified RTW. If it's the latter, would you mind saying how much a custom pattern suit or sport coat costs?

Thanks also, Justin. I neglected to say that I visited their shop in Tokyo last year. They must be offering a different program at their trunk shows because they insisted on at least one fitting for MTM. I was short on time so couldn't do it then, but I think I'll get around to it on my next trip. I'd love to be able to remember the price I was quoted, though.
