I have two pairs of Allen Edmonds Kenilworths, which are now discontinued, and I need to replace the walnut-coloured pair. The Kenilworths were reasonably affordable, and I can't justify the prices of more expensive models. Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement? The restrictions are that they have to be available in Canada and <$300. I prefer the look of plain toes (no caps, no broguing) and a walnut/light brown colour.
For what it's worth, it's disappointing that AE discontinued these shoes, and I've let them know. They were a good "gateway" shoe, and I now own four pairs of AE shoes. That being said, the pair of Kenilworth's that I'm replacing are literally falling apart: the leather has cracked in several places and is now pulling away from the sole. I got a few years of wear out of them, but they are done (they've been recrafted at least once). Interestingly, my older pair of Kenilworth's look like new and have many more years of life left in them, so I assume the damaged pair is an anomaly.
