Removing Locker Loop from Sweater?

Just purchased a few sweaters that fit me perfectly, but they have an annoying "locker loop" attached to the back. How easy would it be for a tailor to remove that?

A tailor would laugh at you.

Use some scissors.

Yeah but if you could keep a straight face after being asked to do a job like that you're not a tailor, you're an actor.

The locker loop is tightly woven into the sweater, and my fear is that a self-done sweater circumcision might result in the entire area around the loop unraveling. I may have to have my tailor laugh at me after all...

Leave it uncircumsized. Seriously, just deal with it.

I know the loops aren't a big deal, but every time I wear one of the sweaters, someone has asked me why my sweater has a "tail". I can deal with it, but frustrating that what are otherwise perfect sweaters in fit, style, etc. are flawed with such an annoying random detail.

Too late to return? Honestly, I've never seen a sweater with a locker loop.

Sweaters were from Club Monaco. Someone over there thought it was a great idea to throw a loop on every sweater in the winter collection. I'd return them, but I haven't found anything similarly slim-fitting elsewhere. I have a love/hate relationship with the store: Everything fits great, but as of late, they seem to be ruining a lot of items with ugly random details.
