+1

What with the BBC series and a general tendancy towards vintage/classic styles, tweed is undergoing quite a revival, as evidenced by events such as The Chap's 'Tweed Run':

Yea I'm not sure that had anything to do with the tweed you were wearing...

Which ones are old fart? Also, is the material very heavy?

Check out the front page of cordings.co.uk for the old fart factor.

The tweed run bike ride is not limited to London. There was one in NYC in the spring, and the second is coming up in a couple of weeks... I'll be there for sure.

I wear tweed jackets much of the time during cool weather here in Southern California. About the only comments I ever get are, "Nice jacket," or something similar.

I have many tweed SCs and several tweed suits. Generally, I am complimented. However, I have been called "The Professor" more than once.

I would wear a tweed odd jacket in the winter if I had one. I think the pattern and weave play a huge part in wether or not you look like an "old man" or a professor or something along those lines.

I'm overgeneralising, but in Germany tweed (jackets) is associated with law scholars and hunters from Southern Germany. Coincidence? Think again...
