Hello,
This is my first post. I'm really hopeful to get some good tips.
I have an extremely difficult time finding button-down shirts that fit properly--they are either too big in the chest or too tight in the waist. This is the result of my "skinny-fat" physique. I'm not overweight (5'10" 150lbs) but have always have several pounds of belly fat--and this is with a regular, fairly aggressive exercise and dieting routine. I have wasted many hours trying on hundreds of shirts to find repeatedly the same problem. Having a shirt taken in along the sides won't work since I can't find anything that fits in the chest but is too loose in the waist. If the chest/shoulders need altering, at that point, it would make more sense to go custom, which is too expensive.
Neck size 14.5, Sleeve size 32, Chest size 39, Waist size (around belly button) 37.
The closest I've come to finding something off-the-rack that fits is the Brooks Brothers Milano dress shirt in 15-32, which is about right in the waist and slightly big in the chest. The Regent cut in 14.5-32 is not as good. I have yet to try the Milano in 14.5-32, but I suspect it will be too tight in the waist.
Does anyone have any other recommendations? (Dress shirts or button-down sports shirts are fine, non-iron preferred.)
Thank you!
