I'm staying in Paris for 4 days and 3 nights during the last week in May. I'm soliciting recommendations on neighborhoods for our stay. This is my girlfriends first trip to Paris and my first visit since a teenager. We are focusing on budget friendly, boutique hotels (3-stars) and prefer neighborhoods that are less tourist centric, but charming and accessible to mass transit. My coworker told me to avoid Arr 1&2, and consider places in either the Latin Quarter or Arr 6.
As a reference, I live in Brooklyn and like the neighborhood feel of a Carroll Garden, Park Slope, Upper West Side, Tribeca, etc. as compared to a Midtown/Times Square sort of environment.
