Hows the fit?

Been on the lookout for Jil/Margiela knits but the ones that go on sale enough for my to buy are 46/S (I'm 44) and I figure if I'm dropping hundreds on a single piece I should get the best size for me.

the front shoulders are about 15" and the p2p is 19", it's not going to be super slim but it'll fit well and be comfortable. plus it's a beautiful color

Got quite a few requests for my opinion of these boots so I did a full write-up. I don't think I could be more thorough but then again, this is SF. I got the boots in size 41. I'm a US 7.5 / EU 40.5, though I think just slightly smaller since most of my shoes have a slight amount of wiggle room but I can't fit a US 7 / EU 40. Sizing/Fit: The boots have a just slightly more wiggle room than I'm accustomed to with correctly sized boots, more like a US 7 2/3 or EU 40 2/3. I'm not sure if they fit narrow because I've never considered myself as having anything but normal feet. The space taking cheap inserts I use for 41 definitely don't work; in fact, very, very thin Dr. Scholls inserts don't fit perfectly either (more on that later). As you can see in the pictures below, the boot hugs the legs very nicely for slim jeans. It came with a sizing chart that, if I'm reading it right, shows their sizing system (on left, in Euro sizing) compared to traditional sizing (on right, in US sizes). Take it how you will. Comfort: There is very nice pad for the heel and a hard, leather insole for the rest of the foot. Heel area is very distinctly shaped to hug around the heel. This is why I can't use even a thin insole that has any heel cushioning - it raises my heel into the groove in an uncomfortable manner. Otherwise it's pretty comfy for a brand new boot. Details: The leather is much better than I expected. The pictures I quote above are actually very accurate representations. It has metal eyelets hidden on the inside of the boot (also pictured) which is a nice touch. The bottom says "benchmade goodyear" and the heel is conveniently already a removable rubber. You can't really tell by the angle but the middle of the sole is a very slight fiddleback (I think that's what it's called

). They're exactly what I wanted. A sleek, modern interpretation of a combat boot that didn't look or feel cheap. If you like the W+H Dayton boot but find it too chunky, this is a nice alternative shape. Hopefully they last.
