My Yoox haul came in today:

2 grey Malo cashmere sweaters in 46 - looked identical online, but strangely one is 22" pit-pit and one is 20". Returning the 22" one as it has bat wing effect on me.

MMM leather messenger bag - don't like the treatment on the leather, and would rather rough up a new bag myself. Returning it.

Neil Barrett off-white lace-ups - too small

Trickers chukkas - too small

Malo brown marled cashmere scarf - not quite as refined as I thought it would be - returning

Prada wool zip-up jacket, dark blue (but basically black) - fits well and makes me look slimmer than I really am, so keeping it. Will (surprisingly) look out for more Prada stuff from now on.

I'm returning 5 out of 7 items. My anticipation of receiving my shipment has turned into mild disappointment. Well, my bank account will thank me I suppose.

Also got the WWM Maine field guide jacket in XS along with the Farinelli's tote. The tote is nicer than I thought it would be. It's not just a throw-in for a discount.

Also got two pairs of Clarks desert boots from endless.com. Will keep the size 7 but am thinking about selling the 7.5 on here.

lol you might as well return everything to yoox. not gonna lie, aside from those $79 RLs, ive never bought anything ive truly liked from yoox. ive kept a good amount of it, but theres always something off and not perfect enough to wear often about the stuff.

I don't like to wear anything too often, so I'm not worried about how often I wear something. I view this as a learning experience, since I don't have convenient access to many of these brands where I live. It's only $6 to return after all; gas and parking to drive to the nearest major city would cost me more. Plus I don't see why I would have to return everything in the order if I like some of it ...

Yeah, I bought the maximum of 7 items per order. Plus I got free shipping from some deal they were running at the time.

Yeah, I figure this is a cheap and convenient way of building such familiarity.

BB1 that DBSS flannel looks pretty similar to the W+H one right?

I really like that W+H flannel and may pick it up soon. It's pretty good with a grunge look, which I've needed a flannel one for. I have a MJK navy / blue houndstooth, but I hate houndstooth, as I've found.

The only real similarity is that they're both flannels that utilize muted color palettes. The DBSS shirt is entirely gray scale and looks more fashion-y, whereas the W+H is green/purple/gray and has more of a classic woodsman/lumberjack style.

I hate houndstooth too and instead prefer larger patterns with more subtle colors. Prior to the W+H flannel I'd never worn any of the flannels I'd bought much. I decided this was mostly due to the bright colors on the shirts, so I'm experimenting with getting some flannels in more muted colors as a way of adding some pattern to my outfits. If you decide to get the W+H flannel, be aware that the bottom hem flares outward a bit too much for my taste. I had to size down to the XS in order to get it to look right when zipped up. I think this shirt is by far the best piece of W+H FW09-- most of the other stuff is pretty bland or awkward looking.

Wtf? You can't treat all clothing from yoox as a single entity, even if much of it is mediocre who's to say that he didn't get a few lucky pieces such as your beloved RL's?
