Received pants from W.W. Chan

The hardware Chan uses with side tabs really doesn't grip the fabric well, so you wouldn't want to rely on it to keep your pants up. I have five or six suits from Chan, all with high-waisted, brace-back trousers. They all have side tab adjusters. Fairly often, I'll notice that a tab has come completely undone. If you really want side tabs, it might be best to supply your own.

You have inspired me! I was undecided between getting one and two more jackets from Chan. Maybe I'll get one jacket and a nice pair of odd trousers and save myself $500 or so.

Personally, I would prefer less break, though.

I'm rather lean, so I haven't had much luck finding pants that fit well, at least without a number of alterations. These alterations still don't transform the pants into what I consider an ideal fit--something always manages to remain too loose or baggy. Having the pants made to my measurements ensured a good fit, actually the best I've ever had. Plus, I specifically wanted a heavy grey worsted flannel, one that has some real guts to it. Such a cloth is not readily available in stores. With these requirements in mind, I think Chan was my best option.

As far as I know trousers with cuffs are usually hemmed straight, though it may well be possible to do it at an angle...

This would only make sense if your pants performed outstanding recurring BJs. Have you tried Incotex?

Yes, and here's a picture of me in lightweight Incotex, after alterations. As you can see, they're more voluminous than the pair above. I can only imagine what extra services you'd think a pair of Ambrosi pants would be required to perform, since they're nearly twice the price of Chan.

Looks good, brother.

Edit: re: your Chan pants...our posts crossed the streams.

Isn't $420 comparable to the RRP on Incos at Neiman or Barneys? He gets his own selection of fabric, made to his exact measurements by a highly regarded tailor (instead of some random dude or dudette in Romania, or Morocco, or where else are Incos made these days?), for the price many people pay for Incotex. Sounds like a decent deal to me!

I think they look awesome.

Zegna sells RTW in something they call Heritage that is supposed to be old fashion heavy. OTOH at normal retail you likely paid less then Heritage would have cost you.

Do you find that the trousers tend to 'get into your arse' as another member has said? I would be worried about that. The rest looks nice.
