ive come to the conclusion nobodys ever gonna buy these shoes in my sig unless i sell them for really fucking cheap, debating whether to just knock the price down really low or turn them into a diy project, ripping off the silver part and seeing what happens

grail piece if I ever saw one. I'd do unspeakable things for that in black and 44 (at a price under 2k).

Yeah, but apparently it's just now really being set in motion.

    i like the idea, you?
it forces them to develop and be innovative. but on the other hand the cost might sky rocket (not that i can afford a hublot anywya)

Well apparently Hublot is already investing in making in-house movements (not particularly interested in one, even if I could convince myself to spend that much on a watch at this point in my life). Overall I think it makes sense for the industry as a whole, but the barrier for entry into the market will go way up. I'm not sure how many small boutique type brands are particularly interesting anyway as I'm not huge into watches, but this change will probably cause them to close/be bought up by bigger companies. IIRC, the ETA movements are being reproduced without a license by some companies as it is now so their might be crackdowns on that front too. We'll see how it affects pricing in general, especially for companies that decide to develop their own movements.
