I wore a hanes t-shirt, levis, and clarks last night and got multiple compliments, lol. got into a conversation with a freshman about denim which was a little weird, but kind of cool at the same time.

Most people are far more likely to receive approval and acceptance from others when wearing well fitting Levi's and t-shirt as opposed to many of the designer-y costumes promoted here. Perhaps your other outfits involving higher end brands are coming off as too try hard and/or awkward?

Most people will immediately notice pieces sporting a non-conforming style, but they will not consciously notice a high quality conforming style. Yet the higher quality fabrics truly do look better in person. Thus wearing high quality pieces in a conforming style is the easiest way to get people thinking you look good with minimal skill/effort. But the more non-conforming your clothing, the more you will be noticed and thus the more critically you will be judged.

Wearing conforming clothing provides you the advantage of being held to a lower standard. Thus if you ace a conforming style, most others will think you look great (even if your overall style is a bit bland).

It's in assisted living right now, we've been supplanted by a new crop of Clarks db wearers, special flower threads starters.

I honestly forget to even check the actual forums most times I stop here because of that stupid landing page. I just end up checking the new posts in threads I've posted in and move along.

I miss the old days when people would **** all over special flower threads. It seems like 90% of threads now are just marsupialed noobs asking marsupialed questions and other marsupialed noobs giving marsupialed answers. It's like an internet version of the human caterpillar.

This, pretty much. Browsing is a really unpleasant experience.

Yup. We need a sitewide survey-- "why did you gtfo after the redesign?" I'm genuinely curious. The change wasn't that drastic!
I would, but given how un-sticky-like the stickies are, it's not hard to miss them. Model bombing threaks was a good period though

It's not unpleasant, it's just that the home page makes it more likely i'll just click on the threads i've posted in than bother going into the actual forum. Which means i will probably never post in or even look at new threads. Kinda seems bad for forum traffic.
