Hi. I was wondering if anybody knows about the 'secret' codes on the price tags attached to Ralph Lauren merchandise. I kept a few price tags from the Polo line (older beige ones and newer blue ones) and they all have 7-digit numerical codes in the first line, sometimes followed by letter codes (such as ANF, JRD, FDP, RLCS, ALDN, NS, ANAN, ANFO, BUO, BL, BTCJ, BTM, CCUSO etc. etc.) and, in the line below, terms such as CLASSIC(S) 1-4, LODEN, HABERDASHE, CL2 CHCOTT, HOLLYWOOD, JN SHP etc. Some even start with a term in the first line: BRIGHT NAV, RL BLACK, BALDWIN BLU, COOPER BRO - which obviously describes the color. The tags also include the RL logo, the size, the MSRP and a bar code, of course. Is there a way of finding out what the numbers/abbreviations mean, to say exactly what kind of article a particular tag must have been attached to? "OK, this was a men's custom-fit oxford shirt in oasis green, size Large from the SS99 season, manufactured in the Bangladeshi plant."
I know, I guess the RL company could tell me (but would they?). Maybe someone else knows, too. Many thanks. SteG
