Ralph Lauren: identifier codes on RL price tags?

Hi. I was wondering if anybody knows about the 'secret' codes on the price tags attached to Ralph Lauren merchandise. I kept a few price tags from the Polo line (older beige ones and newer blue ones) and they all have 7-digit numerical codes in the first line, sometimes followed by letter codes (such as ANF, JRD, FDP, RLCS, ALDN, NS, ANAN, ANFO, BUO, BL, BTCJ, BTM, CCUSO etc. etc.) and, in the line below, terms such as CLASSIC(S) 1-4, LODEN, HABERDASHE, CL2 CHCOTT, HOLLYWOOD, JN SHP etc. Some even start with a term in the first line: BRIGHT NAV, RL BLACK, BALDWIN BLU, COOPER BRO - which obviously describes the color. The tags also include the RL logo, the size, the MSRP and a bar code, of course. Is there a way of finding out what the numbers/abbreviations mean, to say exactly what kind of article a particular tag must have been attached to? "OK, this was a men's custom-fit oxford shirt in oasis green, size Large from the SS99 season, manufactured in the Bangladeshi plant."

I know, I guess the RL company could tell me (but would they?). Maybe someone else knows, too. Many thanks. SteG

One has to be tapped and initiated into The Polognosis. Most are of Illuminati ancestries dating from the 12th century. However, you may observe the secret ritual handshake when Grande Klig Selleck visits Ospore Letterman on the box idiot. Consult your TV Guide(tm) for time and station. Best not to be too inquisitive. There are things you don't understand, couldn't understand, shouldn't understand. It's in your best interest to shred the evidence of your cryptographic cache, ASAP. Or, post-haste, if you will. Beware the black Crown Vic..

Thanks, I. Venerantithesis. I will disinter the heap of Polo-urethanes that I had buried in the Secret Chamber, memorize the combinations and then burn them ritually in the honour of the Gods of Purple. Maybe the rising ashes will form an arrow symbol in the sky that leads me the way to an unwatched terminal in the Livshitz compounds where I can secretely decode the so far incomprehensible messages that are being sent out to me on those little pieces of papyrus every single time.

No serious responses, I guess?
