Ralph Lauren and/or preppy reflections

Doing this project for University on "the preppy scene", angled with a specification towards Ralph Lauren and his (brand) story. Would much appreciate if there are any more RL opinionators on here who'd like to contribute, general reflections on the brand are also welcome. The European country this contributor is from, don't offer much of a "preppy-scene" to draw from, so further input would indeed be helpful.
