Thank you! Let's see if there are more guys interested in that GMTO. Last year, there was a Skye in tan scotch grain proposed which did not get the necessary number of participants. It is still in the spreadsheet. What is the minimum number of participants for the Islay GMTO? I think six was only valid for shell GMTOs?
Yes, I will figure this out this week.
For the Bangor GMTO it was 6 vs 8 at a 30 GBP difference.

Do Paris store have some special make-ups in store or some other good deals?
To my knowledge, there is a French collection which can only be acquired via the Paris stores. However, you do not find much information concerning that collection online. You should contact a Paris store for more information. Some years ago, I bought a Chukka in tan pebble grain that was in this French collection for stock price.

I appreciate your encouragement, I really do, but was just hoping for some informed advice rather than enabling.
It really comes down to how do you feel about the Vibram lug sole and the color of the roughout. I like that sole. Black roughout wouldn’t be my first choice but it’s definitely not a bad choice. I have an older pair of Coniston lookalikes from Brooks Brothers on the 240 (I think) in black roughout. They almost appear dark grey.

I have the vibram lug sole on my Islays and love it. The black roughout on the other hand is more of a lottery. Perhaps with the application of dubbin I could avoid it turning grey. I understand your reservations but for some reason I'm intrigued by this iteration of the coniston.

Faulty memory here. They’re black nubuck and blacker than I remember them to be.

Conistons are great in any combination of leather or sole.

I am not enabling, I am shearing.

This pic might help, not Conis but black rough out looks great.
