I’m reasonably excited to see what the new website brings. I read an interview where they have been making items that they said they would normally have in stores as made to order items so hopefully maybe a few website exclusives. Maybe I’m being more (unusually) optimistic? C and J tend to do things properly so hopefully we may have a few things to ogle on the internet that need not be hidden from our partners....

That would be great. There are so many models and combinations that were made for other shops that I wish to be able to find!

Can you actually change a last in an MTO? For example, a Galway in last 348?
Yes, providing the maker has the pattern of the boot in the last you can mix and match.
If the pattern does not yet exist there would be a £50 pattern charge. In some occasions lasts and models are not compatible but usually last changes are possible.

Hi folks, I already own a pair of CJ Exmoor (https://doublemonk.com/products/exmoor-dark-brown-country-calf), but I found its 348 last shape a bit too lengthy (the stick length) and pointy (at the toe area). I am interesting in purchasing the CJ 359 last on a similar short wing style, the Trafford (https://www.mybudapester.com/en/crockett-jones-business-shoes-budapester-trafford-11144040). Compared to 348, if 359 could be a bit shorter on the stick length and roomier on the toe area, I will pull the trigger on the Trafford.

If someone owns both a CJ 348 shoe and 359 shoe on the same size, can you please do a measurement on its stick length and see which one is shorter? Or could you share the fitting feeling of the two shoes with me?

I understand that, even for the same brand with the same last and size, a pair of boots can be slightly longer than their shoes. So, it has to be shoe to shoe or boot to boot. If you have both a CJ 348 boot and 359 boot on the same size, could you please do a measurement?

Thanks much.

Anyone with direct experience (ie wearing) of the fitting of the Islay (365) v Coniston (325) and Aldershot (375)

I have the latter two, and both fit well, with the Aldershot slightly more roomy. Sounds like the Islay is potentially more roomy then either, although Pernilla tells me people generally take the same. UK11E for me.

Any input from wearers would save potentially having to return, which I know is easy enough to do, but then I'd have to wait even longer to wear them :)

Thx!!

my Brannock size is 9.5D. I have the Islay and a UK 8.5 works well. I tend to wear them with a bit of a thicker sock too.

I have both the Coniston and Islay in UK7E. The 325 fits me best as the 365 is roomier in the forefoot. It's still a good fit and I could probably wear thicker socks with the Islay if I wanted. Good luck.
