1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Grasmere. Hope they won't stretch too much. it's a 8UK (8.5UK/9.5US usually). Tried them in 7.5UK but they were too tight (maybe they could have stretched out enough eventually).

8UK are perfect now, that's why I'm afraid they may become a bit too big (I'm used to wearing shoes tighter than some people). Do you have any experience with that grain leather?

I'm finding the colour combination of the trousers and the shoes surprisingly complimenting...

I don't think you should worry about the leather stretching, if anything the shoes should ever so slightly adjust to the shape of your feet. Apart from that it looks like you could do up the laces a bit more judging by the opening between the facings...

My guess is you've been watching too much dad's army sir! Plenty of khaki and black there.

Thanks...they were super shiny this morning too...but it has worn off since wearing them all day...

They have developed a great patina over time...

Well, where I'm from OD or Khaki isn't the BDU colour. On top of that I see black oxfords mixed with the most outrageous colours on a daily basis. While I do understand that on this forum the former is common knowledge, I'm sure you'll understand that I've become oblivious to acceptable and complimenting colour combinations...

Anyway, to continue with the greens...

I think you may have misunderstood the joke. Dad's army is an old TV show and I was saying you probably liked the combination because you watched the show full of amicable characters wearing it.

I see the Purdey boots just went up from £395 to £475. Quite a sharp increase.

Ouch. Had been eyeing those but my size wasn't in stock. At that price I am not nearly so interested, VAT or not.

Ouch x2. I'd been waiting for the grain leather brogues (Islays) to come back in my size as well. My interest just waned too.

Interesting that the Nubuck didn't go up, it's still at £395.
