That color is gorgeous! What leather/color is that, if I may ask?

Thanks! It's tan scotch grain calf, the same as the men's Coniston boot.

Yes, very nice boots indeed missusjuiceman! You have any other C&J boots / shoes?

On another note, maybe someone here could help me clear up a little confusion I have. I'm looking at different C&J leathers and wanted to know what the difference was between the Chepstow (Tan Scotch Grain) and Brecon (Dark Brown Country Calf). What's the difference between scotch grain and country calf?

The light really brings out the depth of color on these and the Conistons. They can look a lot darker and flatter in low or artificial light.

No other C&Js, though I've considered a pair of their chelseas for sometime in the future. I'm generally more a fan of American workboots; I bought these partly at the urging of my SO, who owns Conistons. :)

@Cleav @68Bullitt i'll race you two for pics. i have a pair of MTO tetburys due in March :p

Picked up my chestnut monkton's from the guys at C&J in NYC this weekend. I had spilled hot oil over the toe and vamp of the left shoe in a cooking disaster on Christmas day. I brought the shoes in to them to see if they could get it out cause I couldn't and after much time they have returned to me good as new!! so grateful cause i didn't want to have to buy a new pair of my favorite shoes :) :)

pics below. notice you cannot see any signs of a stain. you can barely tell it even with your eyes up close.

i'd highly recommend this monkton in chestnut to anyone looking for a stunning single monkstrap. when you wear them people will stop you and say "WOAH WOAH WOAH those are nice shoes!!!" they definitely have some serious "wow" factor.

There's talk of doing a Cheviot (LWB) MTO at some point in the near future. Possibly in whiskey or dark brown cordovan.

You're on! Good news about the monkton, that would be a relief! I have then in suede so can attest to their wow factor

It's not a stock item. Seems to only be available from a Japanese store on Rakuten. It is possible for C&J to make this as a MTO. In whiskey we would need between 6-12 people on the MTO and it would depend on if whiskey was available. In dark brown we would need 12 on the MTO and it seems that dark brown is always available.

What about a Highbury mto (Skyfall!) in navy calf or cordovan? Or even chestnut?

I'd be all over this if I could figure out my C&J sizing. Having not done a MTO through C&J, are wide widths available even if they don't show availability on the website?
