A community of Fashion enthusiast is the best place to ask this question.

I had started a watch blog in back days and posted several useful reviews and buyer's guides. For now, I want to focus more on solving a problem and answering watch related questions.

This could be anything, that a person is interested to know more about it. Like about a specific brand or even something general.

Actually. I would help me to research more on that topic before coming up with the right content on my blog, and once done. I'll post the link here (with permission of moderator) to educate and help everyone who wants to know more about it.

Shoot the comments below with your ideas.

your support to this thread would be appreciated.

Thanks

One problem is whether to wear a nice watch, knowing that you will inevitably scratch and devalue it.

Another problem is whether to buy a nice watch, knowing that the movement costs no more than a tank of petrol and the rest of the ridiculously high price goes to some obnoxious jerk who drives F1 cars or plays tennis.

Another problem I have is that I've never found a nice-looking watch which has all the features I want: water resistance, the day of the week shown with at least three letters, the date, a diving bezel or stopwatch (to use as a cooking timer), big luminous hour/minute markers so I can tell the time at night without putting my glasses on, chronometer accuracy and a mechanical movement. In the past I've owned diver's watches by Rolex, Panerai and Tag Heuer, and an IWC Doppelchrono. I still have a Bell & Ross Hydromax, but it lives with my socks. The watch I wear is a G-Shock.

The big key is to determine who your audience is. What is of interest to an aficianodo buying $60,000 timepieces isn't the same thing that is of interest to someone buying sub $1000 watches.
I submit that if you're asking here, you're probably not talking about the $30,000 and up watch crowd, or even the $10,000 and up watch crowd. I think for the common man who might be willing to spend up to $2,000 it's a good topic to discuss bang-for-the-buck - what watches and brands offer quality vs. just paying for a name.

The problem with Swiss mechanical watches - of which I have had many - is the cost to service/maintain particularly by the authorized repair facility is expensive and is generally increasing over time.
