I think the selection of 44 sport coats was pretty bad.

I had one decent one on, but was more of the $99 price tag making it nice than the jacket itself.

I thought there were some nice suits in the 44L section.

Shoes in the 13 range were just the made in Spain and Italy models, nothing of interest to me.

BigBris, nothing I think you would want in 13.

All sport coats were a minimum of 80% off with a range also being $99 flat.

Just picked up a nice solid blue Stuart's choice suit and sportcoat, and a raincoat that I had been eyeying for some time. Discounts were great.

Still some solid choices left IMHO in 38-39

Going back tomorrow, sans girlfriend, who was nagging at me for spending too much.

My sense of style is anything but refined, but even for me I couldn't see anything worth buying for $99 in the 38-39 size range.

I own several Masterpieces and one Rose Collection. There is more of a difference than a closed channel and waist paint. The leathers on my Masterpieces are definitely of superior quality, and I find the lasts to be more refined on them as well.

Thanks, I checked this thread hoping someone had hid those caps for me.

Which Rose collection shoe do you own? Maybe it's not all of their models, and maybe the discontinued models were made better, but the leather on my Wembleys is what I call superior, and I have had relationships with many a shoe.

What qualifies as superior leather to you?

What sport coats are left in size 44r? Although the anemic way some of those are cut I should say 45R or 46R...

Anything decent?

I don't mind some nicer pastelish colors, but just nice fabrics, etc.

Depends on how the stuff sells. Starting markdowns this year were close to the markdowns that we only got last year at the end. For ex, last year sport coats ended up at 150 in the case of my PC coat. At the start this year, with 80% off, they were already down below 240. Final-day merch is eccentricity squared -- best for hardcore prepsters, disciples of Prof. Fab, and the 'hard-to-fit" in any combination.

There were several good suits left in 40 R, semi long and long when i went today including a partially lined grey flannel DB and a navy flannel windowpane which I might still have to get.

I scored some fantastic fabric a couple years back. $50 per 3.5-4 meter length. Hopefully there's some left on Friday.
