And again, this probably helps put a date on the time when that term was more widely used, but here's the line of ties that I think of when someone uses that phrase

Yikes, check out this link. Brutal. These ties were just horrendous. Compare what this seller is asking for these ties to some of the options currently in the B&S forum.

Those Rush ties are just about as bad as the Gerry Garcia ones. No wonder guys stopped wearing ties.

The Rush ties sort of look like Pancaldi ties, but are probably about 1/4 of the quality if that.
