Overall the new site is more professional looking and strikes me as still work in progress hence the link to the old one.

Yes, no pricing and shipping info up front is a hassle. And it isn't a traditional online shopping experience and I still don't get his reason for not doing so.

I wonder how business is doing with the pound falling so much, Pediwear and all the UK sites have a price advantage plus free shipping. Also a bit of a hassle if he needs to order the shoe from the UK first, making the overall timeframe a bit long.

All said, I think Plal is to be thanked for helping keep C&J pricing within reason.

I'd bet his not having a full service online buying/fulfillment experience is simply because it's expensive to buy, incorporate and maintain. His low prices and the looks of the shop lead me to believe the margins are either low or the profits are going elsewhere.

I also know that truly understanding the customer service needs of an online site evade the understanding of many retailers who don't contract out or emplot persons with real knowledge of this area.
