Park Aves at Discount / Connaught replacement suggestions

Where can I get a pair of first quality Allan Edmonds Park Aves at a discount? I recently purchased a pair of C&J Connaughts form PLAL but they are too big. Also, after examining them, I decided that (1) the quality didn't seem appreciably better than Allan Edmonds, so I figured Id just go with the Park Aves, because should I ever want them to be resoled, I could do so much cheaper and more conveniently. (2) Id rather get something a little more interesting from C&J than a black bal.

So, where can I get a pair of Park Aves (black or brown 10D) at a discount and what should I exchange the Connaughts for?

It's tough to find PAs on discount. I think Amazon had a deal on Sohos a while back. I'm usually a 10D, but occasionally a 9.5 and have been trying to figure out what size C&Js to order. What size did you get?

There a sale at Nordy rack on AE's going on, some locations might have your size and the PA'savailable, but it's a big YMMV.

And as for the AE's on discount, I just got an e-mail today that Norstrom is having their big semi-annual sale. I don't know if the PA's are included, but it might be worth checking there. outside of that, be patient on ebay or call the AE shoebank.

But the C&J's chorse suggested are better shoes.

I think the Polo are probably somewhere between bench and handgrade C&J. This has been discussed extensively elsewhere, I believe.

I've had my C&J resoled by good-quality repair shops. Maybe if I had bespoke shoes I'd send them back to the maker, but it seems overkill to me.

I, for one, have reason to trust chorse with this recommendation!

Chorse,

Who resoled your C&J's?

Check Grapevinehill...The Benton Polo shoe is a handgrade C&J that is far superior to the Park Avenue and should do the trick.

I've used B Nelson at Rock Center, but haven't had a pair resoled in a little bit.
