Translation-if invited to the Mansion, I would get MTM. Since I have not been invited, I won't get MTM and spend my $$ on booze! Ya follow?

QED

Having style & getting into a lather about fit are mutually exclusive, in my mind.

In general the population is getting taller ... and these PJ bottoms are on/off-the-rack ... so yes, I do believe you are correct ... they are likely getting longer.

It's funny. I have the exact opposite problem. I'm 6'3" and have never had OTR pajamas bottoms that retain a reasonable length after washing.

Have yourself surgically altered to 5'-11 ... and this won't be an issue. Then again, it might be easier -- and less expensive -- to buy custom PJs.

Thanks. Now a simple way to put the original inquiry is: you shorter guys out there (and I'm not that short - if you were pj's what do you do? Also assuming you're not so thin you fit into A's comfortably. I can't believe you all have them tailored. I don't think most around here would charge less than $10, btw.
