They looked decent on my tiny phone screen so I ordered a pair, but kinda meh now that I've seen them on a bigger screen. I'll probably send them back, but I'll try to post some thoughts on them based on at least trying them on.

Has anybody tried Under Armour's performance chinos? Or, for that matter, any of their other technical fabric dress/casual pants (which it seems are mostly for golf)?

No, but I've never heard anything good about Underarmour. It's purportedly one of the few options if you have a mesomorphic body type, but that's it.

The quality of the New Way Shorts is disappointing. Loose threads everywhere and the seams at the seat have ripped after only a couple wears.

Aside from that, the fit is terrible. I have fairly large thighs and these still flare out a ton at the leg opening. Most of the photos on the website are cleverly taken to hide this. Pocket flare seems unavoidable even if sizing up.

Definitely getting returned.

I'm considering sending mine back as well due to the flares (no stitching issues with mine). Are there other alternatives out there that have technical fabric and don't have the 4 way stretch? I looked at Swrve and Proof already

I've compared the cut of the new way shorts and the 3-way and they are exactly the same. Both have a slight flare at the leg opening. I think the fabric makes it more noticeable because it has less stretch.

Yea, I used to have a pair of 3-ways but I really liked the New Ways because they are a bit lighter. Shame about the flare, but I guess I'll need to keep searching

I've tried a couple pairs of Aether shorts and never thought they were anything special. Nothing technical at all.
