Outerwear Suggestion

Hello! I'm new here... I am a 26 year old male from London, Ontario. Pleased to meet you all!

I will be attending a black shirt and pink tie event but with denim to keep the casual nature. Any suggestions as far as jackets are concerned? I tried on a classic navy blazer but the darkness of the black shirt doesn't seem to complement it. Perhaps I should go with military style jacket?

In any case, a navy blazer would appear to be one of the last kinds of garments that I would combine with a black shirt and a pink tie, were I ever to attend such an event (not on my agenda for the next couple of months; just checked with my secretary).

This event sounds ghastly, but if I was forced at gun-point I would choose a black or charcoal pin-stripe blazer. Make sure it fits well.
