I wondered the best way to see original prince of wales patterns worn by the Duke of Windsor. I have searched the Internet and besides a thread on London Lounge that shows a few swatches, there are very few color images of POW patterns worn by the Duke.

Ultimately, I would like to select an original POW fabric for a Kent-style DB in 9 oz fabric.

Hurry with your answers before you-know-who ruins the thread with some sort of snarky post about my not being grateful enough.....

You two should consider remaking "The Odd Couple"

In this DVD series Edward Fox as Eddie8 wears relatively authentic garb, although he's arguably better tailored than the original. It's seven 50 minute episodes on two discs of sentimental soap opera. In addition, there follows an A&E "Biography" episode on Wallis Simpson which illustrates much of the Duke's actual garb. Versions with box front illustrations differing from the link below may not contain the Biography episode. A couple of years ago it could be fetched, new, for about $10 from independent Amazon Market sellers. May be in short supply now.

Would Eddie8 have donned a 9 oz. POW DB? One thinks the original stuff was flannel, saxony or tweed.

(Should you acquire the DVD set, notice the vertical crease in the center back of Fox's soft collars. It is the result of hand pressing the shirt collar from the front edges toward the back, folding the collar and pressing in the crease to just below the collar band, to avoid front edge wrinkling.)

Gleaned from a related thread on AAAC, "Bespoke Prince Of Wales Check Suit"
