You know what, in retrospect you're right about the jeans (and the shoes of course).

I would take into consideration your opinions if you where giving respectful advice instead of acting like 18 year old sufu boys.

Thanks Hugo, brlfvr and hustlenflo, I don't know (or think) that I have great/good style, but I am having fun experimenting with proportion, color, and textures. Naaaaate, I don't know, I always like to pair a black shirt with a color over top or on bottom, I'm just fond of the contrast. I also wasn't sold on the boot tuck, but I did it anyway.

Jet, I did try on the sweater in my size, but I've been into looser, draped fits lately. I know I could have looked to other designers for that but......Plus, the fabric felt really nice. *shrugs*

I see what you're saying, to me it's the jil in jil but I do have a chunky v neck from fall that is slightly loose fitting that looks amazing.

So guys I realize it is several pages back now but I really would appreciate a critique of my last outfit, especially after a disheartening comment from a family member. Even if you hate it tell me, also why.

Clearly you've never been to sufu.

Not exactly sure how I was coming off as disrespectful. I said I hated the heels, and gave a reason why. I didn't say anything about you, just that 5 inch heels look very trying-too-hard to me. I'm not really sure how I could have phrased my opinion any more nicely.

You have a comfortable sweater in a nice color that just happens to be Jil Sander. Don't listen to the pundits, it's fine.

ratboycom,

I would lose the hat. I don't like hats very much and that one is taking you into hipster territor with the glasses and shaggy hair and all. That could be what you're going for though. It's really a matter of personal preference.

I would also switch the shoes for some derbies or boat shoes, which are what I think look best with highwater cuffs like that.

I can't really see the pattern on the shirt that well but it seems pretty cool.

I think the overall look has potential though and the fit is good. You've got a kind of preppy/indie thing going on there.

The above comments are things a straight man should never say to a woman.
